THE VINEYARD
The vineyard that serves as the birthplace of the stunning Lugar do Gato , and is located on terraces, in the good and ancestral Douro manner, spreads over approximately two hectares and incorporates four famous grape varieties, distributed in geographically equitable proportions: Touriga Nacional, Jaen, Alfrocheiro and Tinta Roriz. It should also be noted that the remarkable maturation of its pomes is strongly impacted by a local microclimate, which encourages the obtaining of exceptional harvests, in a limited and, consequently, even more precious production.
It is also worth highlighting the existence of old vine strains, predominantly of a white nature, which are more than half a century old, a circumstance that, in itself, and not the numerous and polyvalent arguments previously presented, justifies, not only a visit this unique space, as well as enjoying what is established as the maximum exponent of its oenological excellence, Lugar do Gato .
